Do you provide comprehensive financial planning?

Yes. As CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM practitioners, we pride ourselves on offering comprehensive financial planning advice to our clients. Just as prescription before diagnosis may be considered malpractice, we believe investing before planning is the equivalent in our profession. Financial planning includes the setting of goals and
objectives, a detailed assessment of your current situation and the development of specific strategies designed to help you achieve your stated goals.

What is your investment philosophy?

Our philosophy is to develop a thorough and ongoing assessment that includes both tactical as well as strategic options. We believe this helps us work with our clients in the best way to plan for the growth, distribution and multi-generational preservation of assets.

Why should I hire you instead of doing this myself?

We do more than just create financial plans or invest assets—we help our clients make better financial decisions. We serve as a sounding board to help you make informed decisions that will impact your financial future. We want to be there every step of the way to help navigate the often complex life changes that affect you.

Who is your typical client?

Our typical client is someone that has a dedication to something – whether that is their career, philanthropic endeavors, a hobby or family. Utilizing our services helps our clients focus their time and energy on those areas in life where they are most passionate.

Do you work with non-university employees?

Yes. Although we specialize in working with University Faculty and Staff, we do work with families outside the University environment via referral.

What is a fiduciary?

As defined by the CFP Board, a fiduciary is required to “act solely in the client’s best interest when offering personalized financial advice.”

Are you held to a fiduciary standard of care at all times?

Yes. We are legally, morally, and ethically required to act in the best interest of our clients at all times.

What is the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM (CFP) designation?

Most people think all financial planners are “certified”, but this isn’t true. Many people use the title “financial planner”. Only those who have fulfilled the certification and renewal requirements of CFP Board can display the CFP® certification trademarks which represent a high level of competency, ethics, fiduciary responsibility and professionalism.

How do you get paid?

We charge our clients annual advisory fees based on the amount of assets we are managing. Under certain circumstances, a financial planning fee may be charged in lieu of advisory fees. Where appropriate, commissions may be charged on non-advisory assets.

Is there a fee for the first meeting?

No. As an extension of our service to the person that referred you, our initial consultations are complimentary..
